I’m making good progress on the latest sample/instrument library product. It will be called Hell Piano.

So far it’s 256 samples and 10 KONTAKT patches. It’s recorded at 96khz and stretches very cleanly. There is actually a lot of strange sounds to be discovered by stretching. A 44.1kHz version will also be available.

What does it sound like?
“The end of the world” is the best we’ve been able to describe it. The source is a circuitbent Fisher-Price keyboard (original sounds included) from 1988. I’m still astounded by the horrific sounds that come out of electronic toys with just some slight adjustments to the circuit.

I’m hoping to have it out in the next couple weeks.

This sample library contains the sounds from three baby pianos captured in stereo at 96kHz and at multiple velocities. Two of the pianos had 4 keys, the third had 8. Noise reduction was used to increase dynamic range. The edited WAV files (included) were used to create KONTAKT instruments that span several more octaves than the original toys. There are 5 KONTAKT instruments for each of the 3 pianos with various effects and manipulations. You will find the distinctive clink, fast transient, bright ringing and slightly off-tune sound of the baby pianos useful for music and sound design projects.

QTY: 60 Stereo audio files + 15 KONTAKT patches
Format: WAV 24 bit, 96kHz OR 44.1kHz
Price: $10

I have updated the Spring pack with over 130 more samples bringing the total count to 282 and a total size of 637MB.

What’s new?
133 Stereo hits, scrapes, rattles and short hits of the vintage Accutronics reverb tank. Late last night I got the idea to run the output AND input jacks into the interface and try it in stereo. Besides an impedance mismatch, it worked great. I’m really happy with how these turned out. I think you’ll find these to be a valuable addition to your sample library.

The library is also available in 24 bit/44.1kHz

The price is only $15 until the end of the month. Regular price is $25.

Get it in the AGZFX sample store. Many more sample packs for music and sound design are coming soon!

Today I launched the AGZFX Sample store and released the first HD sample library in the AGZFX series. Many more sets are in the works.

AGZFX01: Springs

HD Quality Spring hits, scrapes, squeals, drones and rattles from two unique spring sources. The first is an old rusty spring of unknown origin with a very dark tone that squeals when you rub it wrong. The other is a vintage Accutronics Spring Reverb tank with a much looser spring and very bright tone. The reverb tank was recorded separately in both mono and stereo. Slow them down, add a touch of reverb and delay, and you’ve got instant horror suspense. The samples in this pack were recorded at 24 bit, 96kHz with plenty of headroom and are edited but otherwise unprocessed.

QTY: 149 Mono + 133 Stereo
Format: WAV 24 bit, 96kHz OR 44.1kHz
Price: $25
