Roland Space Echo RE-150 from Jon Tidey on Vimeo.
Just messing around with my new toy the Roland Space Echo RE-150. This is an analog tape delay.
The ancient tape in this thing is starting to make some unwanted noise besides that it sounds great.
Let me know what you think of it.
I got a good deal on a Roland RE-150 Space Echo today at a Salvation Army auction. This is not the same as the the more famous RE-201. The difference being this one doesn’t have the spring reverb.
It doesn’t work though
OMFG look at this thing!
That’s a 22″ widescreen touch LCD. Those are metal knobs, dedicated transport controls, mousepad, 8 channel strips, 100mm touch sensitive fader, touch sensitive rotary encoders.
Drool factor of 9.5

Made for Logic, Cubase and Nuendo, but I hear it works pretty decent with Pro Tools too.
From the 40 page .pdf included with Ghosts I-IV. Fantastic pictures from Trent’s studio of the recording process. Am I jealous? Hell yeah! Click to embiggun them.
If you haven’t bought the album yet, what are you waiting for!
Just before I leave for the studio to record some drums I’ll leave you all with some things that have caught my attention this week.
Poor Old Autotune - The Womb
I was an internet drummer – The Womb
Charles Dye interview part 2 – EM Cast
Omnisphere Video Episodes – Spectrasonics (the psychoacoustic sampling one is just so cool.)
Soft Rock Band – Wired Listening Post
FL Studio 8 Beta for registered users – Image-Line
TAL-BassLine – KVR
Shaack Transient Shaper – KVR
Eddy’s Studio build – Ultimate Metal/Andy Sneap
And thank you to everyone that have purchased the sample collection already.
