No I don't think a power conditioner would make a difference.
Restarting the program and interface are my first instincts for correcting that problem, though not the solution. Looks like you use a Firestudio, a good firewire card (SIIG, ADS Pyro, La Cie, Belkin) should fix the problem.

I've had some issues with "clicking" when I record. It always starts happening in the editing phase- everything will have recorded fine with no clicking and then all of a sudden I'll hear it.

Will a power conditioner help this problem?

And something that is really odd is that the clicking remains even if I export the track and play it elsewhere.

If anyone could give me some insight I'd really appreciate it.

Oh yeah, Sean at keyofgrey.com has an article on this. He fried some gear due to lack of power conditioning:

Nice article, Jon. I've always had a power conditioner, but you're right, they're not very sexy, and they don't make you sound better. :)

I've been lucky to not have any surges come through my system, but I've heard plenty of stories of people who dragged their feet about buying a power conditioner, and a power surge ended up frying one of their precious pieces of gear.

I view power conditioning like an insurance policy for your gear.

The organizational aspects are definitely what appealed heaviest to myself. Now none of my cables are on the floor, so it's much cleaner looking and there's less dust piling up than there would be were they still trailing along the floor. Everything else involved is just a bonus.
