Great post that definitely needed pointing out because nothing drives me crazier than having to stop my creative mixing flow to address technical issues.

Cleanup, organizing, and housekeeping actually take up the most time when mixing.
The “we’ll fix it in the mix” mentality is pervasive and needs to change for the better.

Great article, Jon! I’m surprised at the lack of essential mixing checklists like this. It would be all-too-easy to forget some of these steps, especially if you’re just getting into mixing for the first time. I’ll be sure to spread the word on this post.

Well done. This is a GREAT topic that nobody really talks about. You nailed it, though. Knock out all the technical junk at once, then you can put on your creative hat and just mix.
