Whoa, talk about a lack of contribution to the site from myself in the last… since I wrote my other article (The Digi 003, and why you don’t need it). So here we go with another gear review, this time about the [amazon_link id="B000EMB3HS" target="_blank" container="" container_class="" ]Axiom 61 USB MIDI[/amazon_link] controller from M-Audio, which I am a proud owner of.

Something just for the Mac users that makes me almost jealous enough to steal yours and try this out for myself. AudioEase the makers of Altiverb have this great demo of their new, yet to be released app, Snapper.

Snapper attaches itself to the bottom of the Finder window and will automatically generate the visual waveform of whatever audio file is selected, in any format, even 5.1 files. You can playback the file or selections from it, and even drag the selection out of snapper creating a new file of just that selection. Very cool and very intuitive. I haven’t seen anything like that for PC yet, but I am very interested.
